Detroit, MI – Detroit Bikes, makers of “the only bikes manufactured in the motor city” is finally announcing their newest model; the Detroit Bikes C-Type to their line-up.

The much anticipated Detroit Bikes C-Type launched yesterday via the company’s Kickstarter campaign, where backers will have the option of purchasing a limited-edition Chrome C-Type.

And when I say chrome, I mean like an all-chrome frame. The type of pure bicycle sex you hang in a Willy’s Loft and never ride. You just drink Two James Rye on the rocks and look at it. I’ll try and get pictures of that chrome one for you ASAP.

The C-Type Kickstarter features other perks too, like a red version, and a frame-only version. Just keep in mind that you will only be able to get the frame-only in either Slate or Red and not any of the limited-edition colors.

The C-Type joins Detroit Bikes much loved A-Type, and (you guessed it) B-Type. The new C-Type finally features a straight and horizontal top-tube, something that this reporter has felt has been missing from the company’s line-up for quite some time.

Each of Detroit Bikes’ frames are cut, coped, bent, welded, painted, assembled and packaged in their factory in west Detroit.

In addition to consumer bikes, Detroit Bikes manufactures private label bicycles for clients seeking quality American-made frames. Their 50,000 square-foot factory is capable of producing up to 100 bikes per day.
